Spam: What to Do?:
Our district email server receives about 60 million emails per year, which includes spam and legitimate email. Of those, over 96% are identified and blocked as spam by our email filter. The rest are almost all legitimate messages, with just a few spam messages slipping through the filter.
What should you do when a spam message slips through? Normally, just "ignore and delete". There is usually no point to reporting spam, as they constantly change. Our filter "learns" about new spam messages as they change and will soon begin to block new forms of spam that may temporarily get through.
About the only time it is helpful to report spam is when you receive spam from the same sender over and over. In that case, please forward a copy of that message to wittmanj@mdusd.org.
